My career started in banking with the Barclays Group in 1974. However, I discovered that Human Resources was far more exciting and switched functions becoming an HR Manager within the bank.
Throughout my career I have managed a number of teams, some included a mixture of external consultants, suppliers and company employees. I also successfully led the HR department of the innovative financial services company Skandia Life through a period of rapid growth.
I have worked throughout the UK including 10 years in the City. Since setting up my consultancy I have helped a variety of companies with employment issues. I am used to working in partnership with all levels.

During my career I have handled the majority of ‘sticky' and sensitive situations managers face. I believe that nothing an employee or manager may or may not do will shock me now. I will handle it delicately, in an unbiased and professional manner.
I have excellent project management skills gained through working on various large and small business change projects such as, strategy and vision setting, development of a behavioural competencies framework, pay and communications to launch performance management. Some booklets I have written won a European/Africa Region Gold Quill Award in the International Association of Business Communicators Awards.
I am an experienced job evaluation analyst and this experience includes developing and implementing a job evaluation framework for Skandia Life and other medium size companies.
My consultancy specialises in providing practical advice and support to all sizes of enterprise on contractual issues, the ongoing employment of staff, recruitment and selection, performance management, change and coaching, Investors in People, organisation design. I aim to offer a personalised service to my clients based on their needs. My clients are diverse. The range includes a geological association, a logistics company, a health care company, a housing association, the motor trade, adult training providers, local Government, large and small financial services companies, retail, hospitality and leisure.
Examples of major issues handled with clients are sex discrimination equal pay claim, disability issues and discrimination claims, harassment and bullying investigations, fraud, mediation between employees where relationships needed repairing, TUPE, redundancy, recruitment of staff, job ranking, pay structures and reviews, coaching managers and directors, maternity leave, contracts of employment and staff handbooks, HR policies and procedures.
